Boring is good.
I am still figuring out if I'm beginning to get used (or rather forcing myself) to this period of going back to school, the mundane lifestyle and the absence of 2 very important persons in my life. Folks who are close to me should know by now, who those 2 persons are. I feel that I've said enough regarding that matter. Life is boring right now, no doubt about it. But boring can be good amidst all the mad rush and clubbing frenzy that I've been going through for the past few weeks. Sometimes, all the fun and party lifestyle may just be a facade, nothing more.I've been reminising of my adolescent years and I miss those days when we seriously do not give a damn about ANYTHING in this world. Days of simple expectations, naive hopes, genuine laughter, sincere smiles, running in the rain and better tomorrows. Where have those days gone? I remember in secondary school days, I love the song, "Those Were The Days". I love it still, just that I have not heard the song for ages. It just reminds me of those good ol' days where friendship came by so innocently and were so so cherished. The song still brings smiles, laughter and yes, tears to my eyes. I'm aware its just a growing up phrase, the coming of age period, but I still miss my secondary school days so so so much. So much so that I can't even describe the feelings in coherent words. So it's my hope that I'll learn to cherish every single friendship, every loved one, every special moment during this period. Everything happens for a reason. This boring period will be my reason to cherish my family, friends and to truly appreciate the small yet important things in my life. Less fiery tempers, booze and irrational behaviors. back to reading my unfinished novel, The Tipping Point. It made me realise that there're so much more in life. --------------------------------------
"Those Were The Days, My Friend."(doesnt the lyrics remind you of our teenage carefree days?!) Once upon a time, there was a tavern
Where we used to raise a glass or two
Remember how we laughed away the hours,
Think of all the great things we would do
Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we'd choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way
Then, the busy years went rushing by us
We lost our starry notions on the way
If, by chance, I'd see you in the tavern,
We'd smile at one another and we'd say
Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we'd choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days
Just tonight, I stood before the tavern
Nothing seemed the way it used to be
In the glass, I saw a strange reflection
Was that lonely woman really me?
Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we'd choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days
Through the door, there came familiar laughter
I saw your face and heard you call my name
Oh, my friend, we're older but no wiser
For in our hearts, the dreams are still the same
Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we'd choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days-------------------------------------------------------
Sigh, i have no idea what's wrong with me and what got into me when I am writing this post, but tears are just running down my face when i read the lyrics again. -Sigh- I admit I can let my emotions get the better of me sometimes.
Well. Those were the days, all my friends. And I do miss them so so so much.
