Its a bird, its a plane, Its Superman!!!!!!Went to watch Superman Returns with Jax today! It was great fun, really really cool effects! I must say that Bryan Singer never fails to give his audience a thrill ride everytime he's in the director's seat. Kudos to him for giving us all time favorites movies like X-Men II and now, Superman. The lead actor, Brandon Routh fits the role of Clarke Kent really well. Those chiselled good looks and the squared jaw seriously resembles that of his predecessor, Christopher Reeve. The resemblance is pretty amazing. I dont really fancy his spandex-like outfit. ( I can never figure out why on earth a good looker such as Superman wants to wear his briefs over his outfit. Looks like a cock la!) haha.. At least in my opinion. And fortunately for Brandon Routh, he can pull it off with his good looks. ha I shall forgive him for making such a fashion boo-boo then.. ;)Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane.. One word, Blah. More of a wallpaper role. Jax commented she looks hot. Eh, no... I beg to differ! I can just list down other hotter and more eligible actresses for the role of Lois Lane off the top of my head. Even Jessica Alba would be a better candidate than Kate Bosworth. Well, thats my opinion... I have no idea why the producers cast Bosworth in Lane's role. Cant they choose someone better, hotter, sexier, can act better?! Anyhow, Superman Returns is a fine and entertaining movie worth your 8Bucks. FYI: its 2 and a half hours long.

Im Crazy!Im back from a Girrrrrrrl night out at first DblO and then club hop to the Butter Factory! I cant believe I'm blogging right now! oh my goodness, as kavi is clearing her makeup, Im bumming around waiting for the sleep bug to hit me.. oh well, too much alcohol keeps you awake, (that's my theory anyway). anyhow, I stink of smoke right now. I got pretty drunk and was rambling on and on and on about stuff i dont even remember saying... too much booze from Dblo girl bar... all thanks to them, we got our dose of booze to get us high enough to behave like we did when we get to butter factory.for those who have yet to suss out butter factory, frankly speaking, the music was fantabulous BUT, sadly, hardly anyone dances on the dancefloor... alright, Im being a tad too cynical but its pretty obvious that people there listen instead of dance to the awesome R&B hits. Only people who can dance and people who act like they can dance actually dance there. haha we gave up dancing after awhile. you guessed it, I belong to the crowd that cant dance THAT well. I can shake but not those shake vigourously and bootiliciously kinda folks. Im just content with the music and people watch. Im glad for the company of my girls. Nuff of Butter Factory and more of Ministry of Sound, Zouk and Dblo! The crowd is still the best in the latter 3.

Im awake at this ungodly hour!I know by now, I wont be the only one who is awake this hour. Counting those crazy football fans who stay up late just to watch the world cup, Im definitely not alone. Not used to the hours, weather and the boredom here. Cant stand the humid weather already, Alright, im starting to ramble again. anyway, Im looking forward to meeting marie and youie later on in town. Miss my girls and their company. alright, a part of me really wanna check out town again just to get a taste and feel of this year's GSS. I know I know, a lil late for me to shop for cheap deals when its like almost the end of the sale and most of the good stuff are already being snapped up by ardent GSS fans... well, Im kinda broke from all that shopping at Robson St anyway. Just window shopping for me then... sobs.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The following cant be happening:1) My dad did not subscribe to cable channels 26 and 27 which offers world cup coverage! grr... there goes the idea of staying up late at home to catch the matches... 2) Im really back in singapore, or was the one month summer exchange a dream I dont wanna wake up to. (beginning to miss life in Vancouver)3) Dwindling account balance (blew it on too much shopping)4) 4 upcoming 21st birthdays....which means further draining of my account balance.....5) Continuance of my driving lessons from where I left off when I went for the exchange. Tell me Im not a loser for failing 3 times... crys... I feel like one thou.. sheesh... Guess which one I seriously dont want it to happen in my life right now?Event no 5! Driving lessons again!!! I dread it. Period.Pure waste of time and money.Alright, 6 hours more before meeting my girls for shopping and catching up time. *Excited*Miss jax too, glad im meeting him later.

Im coming back home.....sighs... time flies when you're having truckloads of fun... I cant find anything less lovely here in Canada.. the weather's great, the food is not bad (if Im not on a student's budget), people are friendly and patient, shopping... well what can I say?! Beyond awesome! haha... Just love the shopping here... Gonna miss strolling down Robson St and Burrard St carrying my shopping bags. As Vanny and I were walking over the campus grocery, we listed out the main highlights of the past month. The feeling's weird. Seems like we were here only 1 week ago...okay, add another thing I wanna accomplish in my list of goals in life.To be eligible to migrate to Canada. Im serious. I love it here! Now, I understand why my uncle Donald and Aunt Joyce chose to live here for the rest of their lives.Anyway.....See you guys soon! =) Hmmmm.. I wonder if there're anymore good stuff left in Great Singapore Sale for me to shop back home....

Richmond, Last Sunday
A day spent at Steveston, Richmond. Dim sum for brunch, gelato yoghurt and loads of pictures, pictures and pictures. Felt good to be driven around Richmond.
That's my uncle who has been living in Vancouver for 24 (!) years.
The restaurant with fresh seafood!
Steveston Wharf

A quirky vintage FORD.....
Vanny went too... =)
This IS what I'm talking about! Strawberry yoghurt.... yum yum! its damn cheap too. Didnt pay for it anyway, its my uncle's treat.... Sighs, soooo grateful to my uncle for finding time to spend time with me and bring me around Richmond....
Those are bulldogs in the background. They're so goddamn cute! cute dogs are everywhere in Vancouver. Except for one dog....There was once i saw this chi-chi lady with her chi-hua-hua in ZARA. haa its a sight i tell you, a dog in a boutique. The chi-hua-hua is urps..., ugly.....(its the only ugly dog I've seen so far..). I never have a thing for chi-hua-huas. They're the most horrid looking dogs ever. (sorry to those folks who have chi-hua-huas, but Im being honest here.)
Dream house no.1
Dream House no.2
Sidetrack:

Marie! Your beady necklace. You like?!!
And kavi babe, this is yours =)
P.S youie, wanzhi and vet, still looking around for pressies to get for you.. Whoops.... Will get them real soon, definitely before going back home. hehs

Pictures, Pictures and More Pictures!Lovely Saturday morning. We decided to hang out at Stanley Park. A goofy good time!

Haha, I love this shot! Damien under the attack
of 5 girls.
Miranda and I The folks who went to Stanley Park (excluding Damien, the photographer)
Jap food! yum!
Caroline lured us to go to MetroTown. Us,who went shopping: Me, Miranda, Carol and Corny (they're couples, as you can see.. A sweet couple, I must say.) As usual, when it comes to shopping, its easy work persuading us to take the skytrain down to MetroTown. Goodness.

I sneaked these 2 shots before being approached by the salesperson not to take photos. Hmmph. Guess what those stuff were? They are not to be eaten cos they're NOT chocolate cakes, cheesecakes or cookies! haha those were LUSH skincare products! haha nice right! they package their stuff like icecream, jelly and yummilicious food. So fun to look at! Apparently, LUSH has outlets in Singapore awhile back but they decided to pull out after a year due to lack of business. WHAT?! lack of business.... in Canada, its a super popular brand of skincare. their outlets in Robson, MetroTown and Richmond Centre are always packed with shoppers. Whats wrong with Singaporean Shoppers... haha perhaps the stuff are too exotic and quirky for them eh....And we went grocery shopping! I just tagged along with miranda, carol and corny.. they need to get groceries.. Not me thou, cos.... My girls and I dont cook full meals! hahaa... sigh...
I was busy taking pictures while they were busy running around looking for the ingredients. And the above are what I took. I was just amazed at how huge things are in Canada's supermarkets. Heinz's super size ketchup and mustard! It'll take me donkey years to finish all that ketchup and mustard.
So there, that's how I spent my last saturday.

Stanley Park, the rain, posing in the rain, metrotown shopping.
well... That kinda summed up the whole of today.
perhaps, I should just elaborate more, not that you guys wanna know, its just a way for me to kill time and to procrastinate doing things at hand. Im not the only one... Dawn and vanny arent really doing work too. We're just sitting at the common room on the pretext of doing serious work. YAH RIGHT!
okok, sidetracked a lil... We started the day with a sumptuous breakfast of buttermilk pancakes, sausages and sunny-side-up eggs for me, 3 buttermilk pancakes for both dawn and vanny. It was yummiliciously good and simply heavenly. A true blue all American breakfast at Cafe Creme in campus village. Sheesh, we have to console ourselves for missing out on pancakes from I-HOP (International House of Pancakes). The guys went on friday morning (the day we chose to go shopping at Robson St instead) no one to blame on but ourselves for missing out on the best pancakes ever (supposedly) in Canada.Okay, lazy to continue writing this post. I went with damien, caroline, corny (short for cornelius), miranda and a few others to Stanley Park, it rained, we got bored and decided to go Metrotown again for more shopping. I bought some stuff and we went home. Thats all for now. Bye! Dim sum breakfast tomorrow! Snigger* I love weekends for the lovely no-need-to-rush-for-class breakfasts!

I absolutely love Singapore Airlines!Oh Im just being anxious here, but Ive already checked out the list of movies available on KrisWorld.I need the entertainment to keep me occupied for the "endlessly long" flight home. The line up of movies are as usual, good stuff by the SIA folks. SIA is the way to fly, seriously. I'll most prolly watch:The Pink PantherFailure to LaunchEight BelowDate Movie (the trailer's hilarious!)FirewallUltravioletCSI: MiamiThat 70s ShowOkies, my flight home is covered by movies I dont mind watching. The flight to Canada didnt feel like 16 hours long. It felt like a super shiok movie marathon. lol...Wooo, another super shiok movie marathon on the 24th June. ;)

All in a day's shopping!
This phrase will appear several times throughout this post:
I should really cut down on my shopping expenses
First lets start with what we did in the morning....
It felt damn good to not wake up to the ringing of my alarm clock. All thanks to Kenneth, our team leader who ingeniusly thought of rearranging our friday morning class forward to monday and tuesday's class instead. No class today which means we can sleep in as late as we want. We have a long weekend as well! He didnt get the 80 bucks Robinson voucher for nothing. So far, he did good as a team leader, sending us group photos, organising trips and liaising with the UBC coordinator... Basically, all that shitass work a team leader has to do. He handled it well, I must say. Kudos to Kenneth!
Breakfast was home-fried eyes and salami ham (yum!) and a glass of milk. It was not bad.... The washing up was bad thou.. haha the saucepan was still there after we came back from shopping. haha... oh well, it was a tad too much procrastination there. but anyhow, I washed it in the end. not to worry, its spanking clean.
We were just sitting around watching american tv, shaking legs and getting bored to death, when dawn said why not we go to Robson today?! The trip was supposed to be a non-shopping event since she had to remove this tag from her shirt which she bought and Robson is the nearest and the best shopping area in the vicinity. And we just had to go remove the tag and perhaps just head back to dorm. But alas, you knew that's soooo not going to happen!
haha, oh well, you know the ending... We ended up shopping! sheesh....
Temptation everywhere! I saw this really nice fitting and extremely figure-clinging True Religion jeans which costs a whopping 259CAD! OMG! it was really really nice! And its TRUE RELIGION! which costs like 425 SGD (after conversion plus tax). It's expensive but if you were to buy it back home in singapore, it would cost you close to 700 SGD (according to vanny).
Even though its a good deal and Im seriously tempted to buy, the thought of going through the layers of continuous nagging from my mum, my aunt and my boyfriend made me a little more sensible and I decided not to buy those jeans. I should really cut down on my shopping expenses.
ah well, I can always buy 2 pairs of Levi's back home =) Sigh, a pair of Levi's jeans never look and feel the same after you've worn a pair of true blue cult jeans.. no wonder, miranda was willing to part with 500 SGD for her pair of True Religion jeans. Im not that willing after all..
Other stuff I got tempted and bought instead:
1) Belt (another one and the last!)
2) Tweed shorts and denim capri pants
3) 2 bottles of Redken treatment (this is a really good deal! its on sale and it is much cheaper than if you were to buy it from the salons back home) Girls, if you want, lemme know. Its 12CAD =)
4) 2 Kiehls Lipbalm (cheaper than Kiehl's in singapore cos their stuff is from US.) *its 15 SGD for one Kiehls Lipbalm, 21 SGD back home. Girls, you want? I can only take 2 orders. 5) Lancome mask and hydra eye gel (also cheaper, Ive did my homework and checked the prices.)Alright, I should really cut down on my shopping expenses.

White Water Rafting SnapShots!Edit*
Stuff taken before the trip up to Whistler.

The bus that took us to White water rafting! doesnt it remind you of Magic School Bus???!
haha.. I love that cartoon! And always dreamt of having a ride of the magic school bus. I got my wish! lol...

Thats me sitting on the left 2nd row=) Soaking wet and having loads of fun!

We kinda look like construction workers sitting on a raft. Dont we? lol.
Back to rowing down the river again...Thats Muscle woman (our guide) sitting back there on the raft.
The rapids (these are not the best and fastest ones)
Happy people
Oh by the way, after the whole trip, I realised I missed out on someone I should have noticed right from the beginning of the trip. I must be cock-eyed not to notice this person.......

Dont you think he's cute?! haha, He was the lone canoeist.. my girlfriends and I didnt notice him until he sat behind us during the bus trip back to camp. We found out from him that he's paying a visit to Singapore next month.. OoOoO.. He said its his first visit there, heard that its a city state, loads of shopping... blah blah.. anyway, he's just eye candy...
At the end of the day, I'll say my boyfriend is still the best guy around (at least for me). heh...

Can we not study? We have 1 more week before project submission! oh my goodness! And the only thing we've done so far is an outline for our project...WOW.... We're so screwed.... Anyhow, I think we'll just wing it in the end. That's always the case when it comes to project deadlines in SMU. Slack first, work blardee hard later! And things always work out. Apparently, desperate times call for desperate measures do work under such circumstances. Im just blahblahing... I seriously have no idea what the hell im writing about. Seems like Im going nowhere. Im just blogging for the sake of procrastinating starting on my assignment. My body is still aching real badly... Oh the most interesting thing that happened today, we went to the beach in campus... nothing fantastic though. The view was not that picturesque, nice but not breathtaking nuff...Shall end here. still waiting for miranda to send me the rafting pictures.. Grr...

I jumped off a cliff..
Into "oh mygoodnessblardee" cold water. The temperature of the water is 5 deg cel.
In case you didnt know, I went for a white water rafting trip with 12 other friends on the trip. The whole experience was awesome! From the start to the end.... It was well worth the 155 CAN dollars.
Okay back to the jumping off the cliff part. The guides brought us to this part of the river with this 2 storey high cliff overlooking this calm part of the river and told us we can jump off the cliff if we want to! oh my goodness. we were like, "Are you kidding or what?" haha it turned out, he wasnt.. the angmoh folks (as usual) were the most gungho and sportingly scaled the cliff and jumped off the cliff right into the icy cold water without even hesitating one bit.
alright....... We cant let the Asian race down... so even though we know we are out of our crazy minds, we decided to just go for it! most of us went, in fact the 10 of us. I went too! Im not worried about the jumping off part, Im worried about the climbing part.. Lemme tell you, I almost wanted to give up halfway climbing the cliff. I was like, " I dont want to climb anymore, I'll climb down.." The guide was like, "NONO, You can do it! your legs are strong!" Yah right, my legs are strong! you must be kidding me! My legs were literally shaking. I sucked so bad at climbing. After like 5 mins ( I think ), I finally reached the top. phew... at least I didnt fall off halfway and embarrased myself in front of the ang moh guys... haha! I didnt hesitate when I did the jump..Aiyah, just get it over and done with!
and the water was freezing cold! the coldness just hit you straight away.. The moment I surfaced, I gasped and winced in pain from the sheer coldness. You should have seen me swimming back to the raft to be pulled back in. I was swimming as if my life depended on it! And because the raft was being pushed away from the currents of the splash, It took like eternity for me to reach the side of the raft. Damien (thank goodness, He's like our life saver) pulled me back to the raft. He's way out of his mind cos he jumped off from a higher part of the cliff...
The rapids were killer.. the whole ride was filled with screaming and shouting of, "FORWARD, DIG IN FOWARD HARDER, BACKPULL!" haha I feel like one of those slaves back in the olden days in the lowest deck of the ship slogging and rowing away. Its real fun thou. A great adrenaline rush! I was tired but happy at the same time. I had this dumbass grin on my face everytime I see the rapids coming! Its like a rollercoster ride with loads of ice cold water on your face and body. We were numbed from the cold after 2.5 hrs of rafting. It was that long, but it felt like 10 mins.
Oh by the way, I had 4 layers of rafting attire on. haha I would be frozen to death if not for those 4 layers. my bikini ( hardly any help), full length wet suit, fleece jacket, gothax jacket, life jacket and booties to cover our feet. Oh and helmet! the most important.
The whole trip was without casualties. Vanny almost fell into the rapids thou when we encountered the "mother" of all rapids. Damien came to the rescue again! He grabbed hold of van's jacket just when she almost went into the water. what to do, he's the only dude with 6 girls (including the guide, which we named muscle woman. haha cos she's damn fit and mascular!).
To sum up....
If you give me a chance to do that again, I'll do it! The experience is woah! Im glad I didnt give up scaling the cliff... I got blisters and body aches all over my left side of my body. But Its worth it.
Stay tuned for the pictures! =)

I Miss Home!
I saw this cellular phone ad on tv today. This guy got a set of free tickets to the World Cup in Germany, jet-set to Germany with his best pals. He lost the tickets. Had to watch world cup live with his best buds using his 3G cellular phone. His friends didnt blame him and they ended up touring the whole of Germany. The ad didnt really strike me as an interesting ad until the end when the narrator said:
"The best place in the world is where your friends are"
That sentence alone made me realise I really miss my friends and loved ones back home. Amidst the fun I am having right now, there's this part of me that misses the people back home. Yes, life back home is pretty much mundane, normal, nothing out of the ordinary. But, all my loved ones and my girls and darling are back there eagerly waiting for me to come back. Im a very lucky girl. Im thankful for that. (trying not to tear, I cant believe Im tearing! sheesh....)
I always feel that you can be in the most boring place on the planet, but when you have your best pals/friends/buddies/girlfriends with you, the boredom doesnt seem to matter anymore. You can be partying at the most happening club with the best R&B beats and free flow of the most premium housepours but without my girls' company, its just nothing that big deal. Seriously, that's how I value my friends' company. Life's not about the party you're having, it's about the company.
Right now, Im thankful for such nice folks in my group that truly makes my trip here worthwhile.

Our heads buried in our E-business notes....
Hardly 2 weeks into our summer program, we're told there's gonna be a mid term exam tomorrow. In total, we have 3 instructors' lecture notes to study. Tell me why we didnt start studying earlier and have to resort to skipping our cultural session in order to cover most of our notes. And why the hell am I still writing this post???! oh my gosh. Where's my priorities?
*munch on my kettle potato chips*
What have I learnt so far during E-business classes? Pretty alot of information, I would say.
Surprisingly, I love E-business classes amidst all the technical stuff about security and HTTP, HTML... all that kinda computer lingo... It's pretty amazing how the whole world (almost not including those stoic anti-cyberspace folks) have used the net for business. Major corporations used online websites as a gateways to their company's brand, image and market share capture... blah blah.. am i boring you already?? haha, basically, we learn about how companies use the cyberspace to do business. Hence E-business/commerce.
Oh well, there's really more to E-business than just online shopping!
As Im writing this post, my fave girls in the group are busy studying.. (or trying to)
Dawny is hiding behind her computer screen... prolly downloading her indie music...
Vanny's munching on her kettle potato chips.
haha... anyways, glad to have them with me on this trip... But it'll be great if jules's here with us... sigh... We were supposed to sign up for this trip together.Anyhow, I should really get back to studying. Or at least, try to put in a lil' more effort.I just remembered what my dad told me before I left, "Girl, You go there to study, not to play and shop okay!!" (Yes, Daddy! Im studying now.....)

Turning old on the outside, but still as childish as ever.....Why I say that?!
Heres why...

you guessed it already? We went to Toys 'R' Us. The store is mega huge! I saw some of the toys I used to pester my parents to buy way back when I was little... Stuff like fake food, Play Doh, plastic kitchen set..... barbie... cabbage patch kids... lol... its just like going back to my childhood!
